MANLY BEACH GETS A RING OF CYCLIST FRIENDLY SPEED BUMPS

  • Manly Beach has now ringed itself with several (thankfully) cyclist friendly speed bumps.

  • Its just a real shame the same Northern Beaches Council couldn’t have adopted this cyclist considerate approach along McCarrs Creek Road from Church Point to the National Park. The poor engineering design of the 21 speed bumps from Church Point continue to be a testimony to appalling Council engineering & cyclist strategies.

Vetements Z-Peugeot Cycling Team (France) - 1987-92

Vetements Z Peugeot came out of the original Peugeot-BP-Esso team (one of the greatest cycling teams of all time) and post 1992 they became the Credit Agricole team. Sponsorship by Vetements Z came from the company owner (Roger Zannier) that made a children’s clothing range. Peugeot stayed on as the original bike sponsor but would soon depart when Greg Lemond (GL) took over the bike sponsorship in the latter years. Groupsets were Campagnolo. Long time team manager was Roger Legeay.

Not unexpectedly it was a very classy team brimming with super talent. Gilbert Duclos Lassalle took Paris Roubaix in 1992, Greg Lemond the Tour de France in 1990. Several of the super domestiques were better than that and won big in their own right - Kim Andersen, Joey McLoughlin (UK), Ronan Pensec, Denis Roux, Bruno Wojtinek, Adrian Timmis and Robert Millar. That was one serious team with a rich history.
