Parramatta Road Race @ Oakville @ 5 Sept - Eric Dole (BiciSport Happy Wheels) finished top 15 from 30 starters in B grade. The race was brutal from the gun, but the bunch stayed together despite a few breaks. Average speed for the 43k journey was 38kph.

Friday Night Track Racing @ DGV @ 4 Sept - David Browne rode well in B grade and placed 2nd in the Scratch Race, !st in the Sprint, 3rd in the Motorpace, 8th in the Mystery race over 4 laps. Race entries increased further for the second round of the series.

Cronulla Tri Club ITT @ Kurnell @ 5 Sept - Randolph Baral took the win & completed the 16k course with an average speed of 42.5kph
Lansdowne Park @ 6 Sept - Ian Grainger was 7th in C grade with Raoul Westbrook 2nd in D grade.
Recovery Ward - Been a poor few weeks for rider injuries with Frank Signor (ribs), and now Jock Young (shoulder) plus 83 year old Noel Larose (ribs) after an off on the Homebush bike lanes near Parramatta River. Best wishes to Jock & Noel
NSW MASTERS ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR SINGLETON & GO FOR BROKE
For 2020 the NSW Masters Road Championships head for Singleton with the Individual Time Trial on the Friday, the Road Races on the Saturday (around the well known Team Time Trial course) and Criteriums on a new circuit at Broke (near Pokolbin).
The revised date is 9-11 October in Singleton

RACE KEEPER OR RACE SEEKER OR RACE EXECUTIONER
The relatively smaller club events have restarted (at Heffron Park, Southern Highlands, Lansdowne Park, Eastern Creek, Penrith, Parramatta & West Head) but the larger promotions and cyclosportives remain in the Covid hurt box. It would be fair to say that mass participation events (with more than 500 starters) have an ongoing problem at present.

Note that bigger events continue to be cancelled as promoters feel the financial pain of complying with the ever changing Covid 19 climate coupled with State border restrictions that again can change at a moments notice.
You know things are tough when the Herald Sun Tour is due February 2021 and cancels in August 2020.

Mr Mann Grundig himself in Herman Van Springel - 163 professional victories over a stellar career including podium spots in all three Grand Tours, a Silver medal at the World Road Championship, Belgian National Road Champion (riding for Molteni), and a winner of the Tour of Lombardy.
Mann Grundig # 1 - A Belgian super team loaded with outstanding Flemish talent. Be it Herman Van Springel, Daniel Van Ryckghem, Jos Huysmanns, Jan Boonen (father of Tom), Willy In’ Ven or Georges Pintens. Primarily a yellow team kit but they went into pink at the Tour de France.
Sponsors were Doctor Mann (being a medicine producer ! ! …. yes, a drug company sponsoring a cycling team) and Grundig (electrical goods in stereo’s or televisions). Groupsets were Campagnolo.
Mann Grundig # 2 - a classic black & white picture with enough talent to fill several cycling museums with Roger Pingeon (Peugeot), Raymond Pouldor (Mercer), Herman Van Springel (Mann Grundig), Eddy Merckx (Faema, wearing Yellow Jersey at the 1969 Tour de France) and Felice Gimondi (Salvarini).
Mann Grundig # 3 - Herman Van Springel won the 1970 Bordeaux Paris Classic over 600k, where the last 300k was behind the Mann Grundig team derny.

Mann Grundig # 5 - Tour of Flanders (Ronde Van Vlaanderen) from 1962 with right to left - Rik Van Looy (World Champion) took the victory, Norbert Kerckhove (Mann Grundig) took 3rd with Tom Simpson (Leroux) 5th
