BiciSport Distinguished Gentlemans Ride @ Centennial Park @ 3 January - a decidedly motley crew formed up the DGR peloton last week and Ivan Sher led the DGR peloton on the last lap to claim the stage victory.
L to R - Ivan Sher, Martin Renwick, John Crouchley, Peter Stupka (with a very nice Pinarello), Glenn Vigar, Ian Grainger, John Robb, Marty Wright & Mike O’Reilly. All cyclists are welcome to this Thursday morning ride starting from the Spruce Goose Cafe in the centre of Centennial Park at 9.30am during January (going back to 10.30am in February).

Cycling Australia National Championships @ Ballarat @ 4-6 Jan - Alex Simmons was sighted driving the Chief Commissaires car during the Ballarat Nationals. Alex is acknowledged as the premier race convoy driver currently behind the wheel. It takes a high degree of skill & concentration to place a motor vehicle deep inside a professional peloton at full speed & Alex does an outstanding job. Alex’s next role is the Chief Commissaires convoy driver at the Herald Sun Tour from 30 Jan-3 Feb (HST stage details below), a race that features Ritchie Porte & Team Sky.

The 2019 Herald Sun Tour this year is based in Gippsland with a start on Phillip Island, with stage finishes at Churchill, Warragul & Arthurs Seat. The final 90k criterium is in central Melbourne. The HST features Ritchie Porte & Team Sky.
