Velle Elite Kermesse - East Flanders, Belgium @ 11 Aug - The 76th Velle Elite Kermesse is co-sponsored by BiciSport.
The Velle Kermesse has a rich Belgian cycling history and numerous (then amateurs) won this race before going onto highly successful professional careers - Benoni Beheyt (1959 Velle winner & future pro World Champion at Ronse in front of Rik Van Looy), Julien Stevens ('63), Willy Planckaert ('64), Andre Dierckx ('66) and Rudy Matthijs ('80) - all graced the classic professional events after winning as amateurs in Velle.
Congratulations to the VerHulst family for making it happen & Eddy VerHulst who cracked a podium in the Masters event. Go Big Ted.
