The Ronde van Vlaanderen ranks at the very top of the international racing calendar … be it the competition itself, but then factor in community involvement & national pride and we are go.
BiciSport teamed up with the local Avelgem peloton. Avelgem is some 15k from Oudenaarde. The day started at 10.30am as the peloton pedalled into Oudenaarde along the Schelde bikepath.
Ronde roadside sightings included
the Womens presentation & start at Oudenaarde
the Mens passing at Central Oudenaarde, the Eikenberg cobbles, the Koppenberg cobbled wall, the Old Kwaremont and finally the mandatory TV viewing session at the Olde Schelde Cafe where the Belgian beer flowed. A Ronde dinner concluded the weekend.
